Here you have one of the nicest railroad stocks ever engraved. It was printed around the turn of the 19th century century and was filled out and issued in the 1930's or 40's (date, serial number, bearer and share amount may vary). The steel etched central vignette shows a nostalgic panoramic view of 3 Pittsburgh Bridges around 1900 (or earlier) at the confluence of the Monongahela, Allegheny, and Ohio Rivers. It is flanked by 2 smaller vignettes - a funnel stack locomotive and a tall sailing ship. Beautifully engraved by the American Bank Note Co. and ideal for framing. The perfect gift for the Pittsburgh, railroad, currency or scripophily collector. Retail Value $75!! This stock belongs in every home and office in Pittsburgh - if we only had that many. JANUARY 1895. Rare pulp published as a Railroad edition in a slightly down sized format. This was an experimental format published to be read while traveling on a train. The idea was not a success and it did not last long making this edition quite rare today. This should be in the collection of a serious pulp historian. It is much too obscure for the non dedicated collector.

  • RARE Hohner Railroad Commemorative Wabash /Lehigh Valley Railroad Harmonica Set

RARE Hohner Railroad Commemorative Wabash /Lehigh Valley Railroad Harmonica Set   Product Description These great harmonicas are part of a group of prototype samples made by Hohner for the Norfolk Southern Railroad as what was going to be a Railroad Commemorative series of Harmonicas with harmonicas commemorating different railroads in 4 color display boxes with beautiful embossed train art and logos on each harmonica and information on each train line on each box. As far as I know there were only three sets of 2 harmonicas made for the series and less than 100 pieces of these sets made total for the combined 3 sets. We got 44 sets of the 48 that were made of this set commemorating the Lehigh Valley & Wabash Railways. I assume the other 4 were given as samples to executives at Norfolk Southern and at Hohner so I doubt any were released to the public . I feel the 44 sets we are selling are all that will be out to the public which makes these a very rare item indeed. This great set of 2 harmonicas in the key of A comes in a deluxe 4 color box and each of the 10 hole diatonic harmonicas has brass reedplates and stainless covers and the covers are embossed in full color with the logos of the Lehigh Valley Railroad and the Wabash Railroad . What an amazing collectible or playable ...
