  • ROMANCE PULP 1895 JAN - RARE RAILROAD EDITION FICTION G/VG

JANUARY 1895. Rare pulp published as a Railroad edition in a slightly down sized format. This was an experimental format published to be read while traveling on a train. The idea was not a success and it did not last long making this edition quite rare today. This should be in the collection of a serious pulp historian. It is much too obscure for the non dedicated collector.

  • RARE Hohner Railway Commemorative Reading & Pennsylvania Railroad Harmonica set

These great harmonicas are part of a group of prototype samples made by Hohner for the Norfolk Southern Railroad as what was going to be a Railroad Commemorative series of Harmonicas with harmonicas commemorating different railroads in 4 color display boxes with beautiful embossed train art and logos on each harmonica and information on each train line on each box. As far as I know there were only three sets of 2 harmonicas made for the series and less than 100 pieces of these sets made total for the combined 3 sets. We got 34 sets of the 48 that were made of this set commemorating the Reading & Pennsylvania Railroads. I assume the other 14 were given as samples to executives at Norfolk Southern and at Hohner so I doubt any were released to the public . I feel the 34 sets we are selling are all that will be out to the public which makes these a very rare item indeed. This great set of 2 harmonicas in the key of A comes in a deluxe 4 color box and each of the 10 hole diatonic harmonicas has brass reedplates and stainless covers and the covers are embossed in full color with the logos of the Reading & Pennsylvania Railroads . What an amazing collectible or playable item for the railroad fan in your life. The harmonica is nowadays popular in almost every music style, and Hohner...

  • Railroad game Dutch 1860's antique catch-penny hand color print wonderful rare

Nieuwe Nederlandsche Kinderprenten Spoorwegspel (Dutch Board Game) Issued c.1860's-70's or possibly earlier, Netherlands (likely Amsterdam). Rare. Of particular note for the early prominent depiction of what appears to be a newly constructed "Paleis voor Volksvlijt", a monumental and much acclaimed architectural wonder- a mammoth crystal palace- built in the mid-19th century in central Amsterdam. Wonderful, graphically pleasing and very uncommon early Dutch antique color lithograph game print- with original hand color. Catch-penny style childhood print, rules of the game printed in the center, numerous early trains, stations, people and views leading up to the 63rd view, the large glass & crystal "Paleis". Print remains overall clean & sound, light signs of age typical to all old sheets of printed paper but much cleaner and nicer than typical. Great old rare early Dutch board game print, entirely worthy of hanging for display. A visual depiction captured in a manner entirely unique to this era. Sheet measures c. 12 1/2" H x 16 1/4" W. Printed area measures c. 11 1/2" H x 15" W [R16900]
